Ongoing Care

Couples Therapy

Steady, weekly work to understand the cycle, repair the ruptures, and build a relationship that feels like home again.

What to expect

We meet for 60-minute sessions, weekly or biweekly. Early on, we slow down the conflict enough to see what's really happening underneath it — the fears, longings, and old wounds that drive the same arguments on repeat.

From there, we practice. New ways to bid for connection, to repair after a rupture, to stay present when it's hard. Many couples come to ongoing sessions after an intensive, to hold and deepen the progress they've made.

The three things sessions tend to circle

Communication

Breaking out of criticism-and-defend loops into being genuinely heard.

Trust & Repair

Rebuilding safety after betrayal, distance, or years of disconnection.

Intimacy

Restoring closeness, desire, and the felt sense of being a team.

Areas of Focus

What we work on, specifically

Three patterns I know deeply — recurring conflict, family-of-origin, and ADHD in relationships.

01

Recurring Conflict & Disconnection

The same argument, on a loop — or the quiet version, where you've stopped having it at all. One of you reaches and gets louder; the other goes flat and leaves the room. Neither move is wrong, and each one triggers the other. We map your specific cycle so you can catch it in real time, then rebuild the conversation you've never been able to finish.

This is you if —
You can predict the whole fight before it starts
One of you pushes for resolution tonight, the other needs to leave the room
Doing the thing they asked for didn't end the argument
It's gone quiet, and quiet doesn't feel like peace

Family-of-Origin Patterns in Relationships

Nobody arrives in a relationship as a blank slate. Long before you met, you learned what happens when you need something and whether it's safe to be upset — sometimes through overt events, more often through chronic conditions people minimize as "not that bad." Those lessons show up in your marriage as instinct. We trace them to the root so you can choose on purpose instead of inheriting by default.

This is you if —
You hear a parent's tone come out of your own mouth
Your reaction is bigger than the thing that caused it
You swore you'd never do this, and you're doing it
Conflict feels dangerous rather than just uncomfortable
